Tinted Trails
To celebrate the anniversary of this volunteer effort, Tint is publishing an anthology on ESL literature, Tinted Trails, which will be presented at a festival of the same name from November 10 to 11, 2023.
Writing in a language that is not one's first, and probably not even among the official languages of one's current place of residence, bears challenges. Still, many writers find a colorful playground or a comforting rescue in a language that they have learnt later in life, as they cross borders and blend cultures with their unique idiosyncrasies and perspectives. The cultural, geographical and personal riches of their texts are a crucial contribution to the present and future development of global literature and intercultural understanding.
Experience the variety of ESL literature at the book presentation on the first evening with authors from all over the globe, try translingual writing out for yourselves at one of the many workshops on the following day, and get involved in discussions about literature, art and life in-between it all.
